Michelle Pellizzon is a certified health coach, holistic nutritionist, and personal trainer who specializes in helping her clients transform their bodies and brains for the better.
She is the Fitness + Nutrition Editor for Thrive Market, and most recently authored Thrive’s first print publication, “The 5-Day Thrive Detox”, a Paleo-friendly detoxification program.
A former professional dancer and Boston-qualifying marathoner, Michelle lives what she teaches her clients: Intuitive eating combined with nutrition science can help you unlock your body’s full potential—it’s all about finding your personal formula.
She received her bachelor’s degree from New York University and certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

What inspired you?
Michelle was a classically trained ballet dancer and went to school in NYC to study nutrition and dance. She started having seizures at 17, and was diagnosed with epilepsy.
“It as a reminder that even at a young age, you need to take care of yourself”
She as told it was incurable and she would be on medication for the rest of her life, so she wanted to learn more about how she could heal herself and what she could do to make her body of life better.
She received her yoga and then personal training certification, working celebrities, athletes and models. She went back to school for health coaching and holistic nutrition before moving to LA to build her practice.
Once in LA, Michelle worked for a few startups.

Thrive Market recruited her, and she is currently their Fitness & Nutrition Editor.
What do you enjoy the most?
Michelle enjoys going in to an office daily and working with other like-minded individuals.
“I love the ability to work with people that are so talented; we really care about the products we’re putting out.”
What do you wish you knew then that you know now?
Michelle says she is often impatient, and wishes she knew to take her time with things.
“I tend to kind of have the idea that I’m going to force things to happen”
She says that sometimes, you need to keep your eyes open and “ears to the ground” for new opportunities.
What was your biggest challenge?
With Thrive Market, getting over the fear that the concept wasn’t going to work was the biggest hurdle she faced.
“We’re going to be successful as long as we stay true to our values”
She adds that it’s important for them to hone in on their focus, which is something the Co-CEO of Thrive Market stresses often.
Michelle says she’s needed to learn to trust her instincts, and when she hasn’t done this, it hasn’t worked out well for her.
What is your biggest success?
Michelle believes that the company morale is a success in itself, and just knowing that they’re doing a good job at Thrive Market with the types of products that they’re offering people.
How do you stay on the cutting edge?
She stays on the cutting edge by reading and researching, as well as staying in touch with what the Thrive Market members are telling them.
What are your most impactful books?
“Natural Running” by Danny Abshire, anything by Brian Tracy and “Why We Buy” by Paco Underhill
Who is your ideal client?
Michelle says that everybody that has to buy groceries is an ideal client!
